St Vincent de Paul Society - Men's Conference
The charter of the men's conference is clear: - To provide short-term help to those who are suffering personal hardship. - We do this by person-to-person involvement with visitation to the poor and those in need.
In addition to the regular visits to the needy, the conference conducts quarterly clothing drives, winter blanket appeals, and a weekly distribution of bread to the poor and homeless. The men's conference also assists the ladies in the visitation to nursing homes and the annual Christmas Hamper appeal.
The men's conference meetings are held each Wednesday night in the Parish Community Centre commencing at 8.00pm, the duration of the meetings is about one hour. The conference is continually seeking new and younger members to carry on this important work in the parish.
